What Is a Company Move? Moving the Unit Mid-Day
A company move is moving the whole unit, cast, crew, equipment and vehicles, from one location to another in the middle of a shoot day.
Also called: move · unit move · location move
Why schedules avoid them
A move means wrapping one set, loading the trucks, driving, parking, unloading and lighting again, and on a small crew that is easily two hours that shoot nothing. Schedulers group scenes by location for exactly this reason, and a day with two moves is usually a day that will not make its pages.
When a move is unavoidable, it goes on the call sheet with the second location and parking, and the schedule shows it as a break between the strips it separates.
